Russian military forces struck the building of a shopping and entertainment center in the center of Sumy with an unmanned aerial vehicle. According to updated data provided by official representatives of the Sumy Regional Military Administration and the Sumy City Council, the attack killed two young people — a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. The number of injured reached 21, including three minors. A fire broke out on the premises of the mall, and parked vehicles and the building's load-bearing structures were damaged.

However, Oleksandr Hryhrov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, stated directly: “Fortunately, the information about a third killed person has not been confirmed.” Thus, according to official data confirmed at the level of the regional administration, the number of killed is two. In addition, an earlier message from the State Emergency Service, relayed by Interfax-Ukraine, recorded 14 injured — this figure was accurate at the initial stage and was later revised upward to 21 injured as medical personnel completed triage and hospitalization.

The National Police of Ukraine reported that, as a result of the enemy strike, the mall building and the vehicles on the parking lot were damaged, and a fire broke out on the premises. Police, rescuers, medical workers, and other specialized services are working at the scene.
