On Monday, June 8, a Russian drone struck a residential district in the city of Zaporizhzhia. The attack resulted in casualties, damage to residential buildings, and infrastructure. The situation at the scene remains tense as emergency services continue to address the aftermath of the explosion.

Rising number of casualties

Initial reports stated that five people were injured in the drone strike. However, this figure was soon revised as the number of wounded rose to 15. All victims are receiving emergency medical care, with medics working directly at the scene.

As of 20:00, the National Police of Ukraine reported that 24 people had sought medical attention for injuries of varying severity.

Two fatalities

Tragically, two people were killed in the attack. Information regarding the victims and injured is being verified. Rescue services continue their operations at the site of the strike, conducting search efforts.

Previous attacks

This is not the first attack on Zaporizhzhia in recent days. On the night of June 7 and the morning of the same day, Russian forces launched a series of strikes on the city. These resulted in power outages and partial electricity cuts in several districts.

Additionally, on June 6, during a daytime attack, one Russian strike hit a supermarket building. The impact was recorded on the roof of the commercial facility. A child was among those injured.

Attack on Konotop

On the morning of June 8, the city of Konotop in the Sumy region was also targeted. Drones struck a multi-story residential building. Preliminary data suggests one person may be trapped under the rubble. Three injured individuals are currently in intensive care.
