Kyiv and the Kyiv region are facing serious weather challenges. On the evening of June 29, the capital was hit by severe weather, which led to infrastructure damage and disruptions in the operation of city systems. In response to the situation, the company DTEK announced a switch to an enhanced mode of operation.
Emergency crews guarding energy supply
Due to the risk of emergency situations, DTEK has switched its emergency crews to a 24/7 mode of operation. According to an official statement by the company, specialists are ready to promptly eliminate any damage to minimize downtime and ensure the stability of the power supply.
Employees of the energy company have already begun restoration work. Photos from the scene show employees in branded uniforms eliminating the aftermath of the storm, clearing lines and equipment of fallen trees and debris.

By the evening of June 29, the wind in Kyiv suddenly intensified, and the sky was covered with dark clouds. Gusts caused trees to fall in various parts of the city. According to local Telegram channels, fallen branches and tree trunks posed a threat to power lines, leading to local power outages in certain areas.
Meteorologists had warned in advance about the difficult situation. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center declared Level I danger (yellow) for Kyiv, forecasting difficult weather conditions for June 29–30.
Warning for residents
In conditions of extreme weather and the work of emergency services, local residents were advised to be as careful as possible with the use of electricity. Experts urge avoiding the simultaneous connection of powerful appliances to prevent network overload and not exacerbate the power supply situation.
Bad weather has also affected other regions
The aftermath of the storm was felt not only in Kyiv. In Lviv, strong winds knocked down trees and damaged the tram contact network. As a result, the movement of several tram routes was temporarily suspended. Buildings were also damaged: part of the roof was torn off the building of the Shevchenkivskyi district administration.
