Eggs have become cheaper, buckwheat has divided retailers: a review of prices in Ukrainian supermarkets on July 3

The Ukrainian food market has recorded new changes in the pricing policies of major retail chains. As of Friday, July 3, retailers updated price tags on a number of basic products, which is particularly noticeable in the egg category. At the same time, the grain segment continues to show a significant price spread between different stores.

Price drop on eggs in the ATB chain

The most notable event of the week was the decrease in the cost of chicken eggs in the ATB retail chain. A dozen eggs of the private label brand became cheaper by 3 hryvnias at once. This change came as a pleasant surprise for shoppers on Friday, when most other chains maintained stable prices.

However, the absolute leader in terms of minimum cost in this category remains the "Auchan" chain. Here, a dozen eggs are offered at a price of 34 hryvnias, maintaining leadership in the fight for the buyer.

Buckwheat: record price gap

The situation with buckwheat remains tense and demonstrates a huge gap between the offers of various retailers. The "Silpo" chain offers the lowest price on buckwheat. However, it is worth considering an important nuance: this exclusive price is not available to all buyers.

To get the minimum price at "Silpo", you must have a bonus card or a mobile app installed. Without these conditions, the cost of the grain may differ significantly from the stated minimum.

Stability in the bread and dairy product categories

In the bakery segment on July 3, there is complete price stability compared to Thursday. The "Silpo" chain continues to hold the cheapest position per unit of weight, not yielding its position to competitors.

A similar situation has developed in the dairy and oil sectors. All major supermarkets — ATB, "Silpo", Novus, and "Auchan" — have left their price tags unchanged, maintaining Thursday's, July 2, positions.

To compare prices, only the cheapest offers in each category published on the official websites of retailers were selected. This allows for an objective assessment of the market situation and choosing the most advantageous options for buying essential products.
