Popular Ukrainian TV host Ekaterina Osadchaya honestly shared what a family vacation with children really looks like. On Instagram, the star debunked the popular myth that a family holiday means endless reading on the beach and total relaxation.
According to Osadchaya, reality is often far from the perfect picture seen on social media. Instead of peaceful time by the sea, mothers face constant worries: feeding, shopping, and endless requests from children. The host admitted that on vacation, she often turns into a personal animator who has to come up with entertainment 24 hours a day.
The myth of the perfect vacation
Many parents dream of taking their children to the sea or the countryside, imagining they will finally be able to relax. However, as the TV host notes, adults often have unrealistic expectations. Instead of resting, the mother ends up in a mode of total service to her children's desires.
"Mom is the animator, Mom cook, Mom feed, Mom entertain, and all of this is you. But when does Mom get to rest?" — Osadchaya asked rhetorically in her post, published with a reference to RBK-Ukraine.
The balance formula: the right to imperfection
Despite the difficulties, Ekaterina knows how to find time for herself even surrounded by children. Her secret lies in abandoning a strict schedule and the attempt to be a "perfect mother".
The host advises mothers to allow themselves a little more than in everyday life. In her opinion, the key to a successful vacation is freedom from schedules. Sometimes you can sleep a little longer, let the children eat something not very healthy, or simply spend an extra half-hour playing.
"Being an imperfect mother is the key to any vacation, for me personally," — Osadchaya emphasized. She also urges mothers not to refuse help if someone offers it.
The value of memories
Osadchaya reminds us that a vacation with children is a time you want to remember. Therefore, there is no point in trying to control everything. According to the TV host, in the future, parents will happily review photos, remembering how the children ran around the beach when they were still small.
"If there is someone to help — let them help. We will really remember this time, we will be happy," — the star added.
Ekaterina Osadchaya's family
The host is raising three sons. Her eldest son, Ilya, was born in 2002 in her first marriage to Oleg Polischuk. He is now 23 years old and lives his own adult life.
In 2017, Ekaterina married TV host and actor Yuri Gorbunov. The couple has two children together: eldest son Ivan (born in 2017) and youngest son Daniil (born in 2021). Previously, Gorbunov admitted that he dreamed of having a daughter, to which Osadchaya also responded in her interviews.
