The state fuel cashback program in Ukraine has officially ended. This temporary support measure, which was in effect from March 20 to May 31, 2026, was introduced against the backdrop of a sharp rise in global oil product prices due to the escalating situation in the Middle East.

Program Results: Figures and Facts

During the two months of the program's operation, nearly 2.3 million Ukrainians took advantage of it. More than 220 gas station operators across the country participated in the campaign. Cashback was credited automatically upon cashless payment for fuel at gas stations that joined the program.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, 91% of program participants are owners of budget-class cars with small engine displacements. This indicates that the support was directed precisely at those who feel the rise in fuel prices most acutely.

What to do with accumulated funds?

Important: the end of the program does not mean the immediate withdrawal of funds. Ukrainians who managed to accumulate cashback can use it until June 30, 2026, inclusive. After this date, any remaining unused balance will be automatically returned to the state budget.

The Ministry advises not to delay the use of funds until the last moment to avoid losing the accumulated amount.

"National Cashback" continues to operate

Despite the conclusion of the fuel program, the general "National Cashback" program remains active. Currently, more than 5 million Ukrainians are using it to receive compensation for purchasing goods of Ukrainian production.

The program was introduced to support domestic manufacturers and stimulate domestic demand. Participants can use the funds to pay for utilities, transport, mobile communications, medicines, cultural services, or to aid Ukrainian military personnel. The maximum payout amount is up to 3,000 hryvnias per month.

According to the government, 70% of the funds received are spent by Ukrainians on utility payments, while the rest is spent on goods and services of local production. The Cabinet of Ministers has already extended the "National Cashback" program for another two years.

Thus, although support via fuel cashback has ended, the state continues to provide financial assistance to the population through other mechanisms adapted to current economic conditions.
