The logistical artery connecting the peninsula with the occupied Donbas has turned into a deadly trap for Russian equipment. Operators of unmanned systems from the Department of Active Actions of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have taken full fire control over key sections of the highway connecting Berdyansk, Melitopol, and Dzhankoy.
Videos released to the public demonstrate the effectiveness of precision strikes. Cameras capture Russian fuel tankers, trucks, and heavy repair vehicles exploding deep in the enemy's rear. The fighters are not just attacking; they are systematically destroying the supply chain, depriving the occupying forces of the ability to quickly transfer resources and reserves.
These actions are a continuation of a series of successful operations by the Ukrainian military intelligence. Previously, GUR specialists struck military trains in Crimea, disrupting plans to transfer weapons. The "Ghosts" operation, which disabled two large landing ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet — "Yamal" and "Nikolai Filchenkov" — gained particular notoriety.
The systematic work of special units covers not only rear communications but also the front line. Between February and April 2026, a large-scale special operation was carried out in the Sumy direction, during which mercenaries of the Rosgvardia "Akhmat" unit were destroyed. Today, the focus has shifted to logistics: every truck disabled on the "Crimea-Donetsk" highway is a direct blow to the combat effectiveness of enemy groups.
