Change of Scenery and Directorial Chair

The fundamental difference of the new part from previous episodes lies in the change of location. While the early chapters of the story unfolded in Victorian London, the action of the third part has been moved to the territory of Malta. Location shooting took place in the historic quarters of Valletta and Mdina, which allowed for the creation of a unique visual atmosphere of the Mediterranean.

The most important institutional change was the departure of Harry Bradbeer from the director's post. The baton was taken up by Phil Barantini, known for the dramatic thriller "Boiling Point". The script foundation was still curated by Jack Thorne, who adapted Nancy Springer's original novels for the cinema.
