Representatives of the European Union have officially reaffirmed their unwavering stance on supporting Ukraine during a recent round of international consultations in Miami, USA. This statement comes amid growing tensions surrounding diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the large-scale military conflict initiated by the Russian Federation.
Diplomatic Consultations in Miami
According to European Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho during a traditional press briefing, the main objective of the European delegation was to convey Brussels' clear and unequivocal position to their American counterparts. She noted that the European side at the negotiating table firmly and argumentatively confirmed its comprehensive, full, and unshakable support for the Ukrainian state in its struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
At the same time, Ms. Pinho refrained from disclosing deep insider details or specific parameters of the closed discussions held between representatives of the United States, the European Union, and Ukraine. Nevertheless, the European Commission views the very fact of conducting such multilateral consultations as a positive and constructive step toward achieving a fair, sustainable, and long-term peace.
Contradictory Data
It is worth noting that a serious information crisis has erupted around the Miami meeting, exposing deep discrepancies between official diplomatic reports and independent media data. According to reputable media outlets, the negotiation process in the US ended prematurely and amid a scandal because Washington decided to conclude a separate diesel deal with Moscow and suspend some of the existing tough sanctions against the aggressor state. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized this situation extremely harshly, stating that the Ukrainian government delegation was cynically used as a political cover or smoke screen for backstage agreements.
Context and Participants of the Negotiation Process
Recall that the large-scale consultations in Miami took place with the participation of high-ระดับ delegations. On the American side, US President's special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner directly participated in the dialogue. The Ukrainian delegation was represented by influential state figures, including Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Rustem Umerov, Deputy Head of the OP Sergiy Kyslytsya, and the leader of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction Davyd Arakhamia.
