On the morning of August 5, a powerful explosion occurred in the settlement of Bolshoy Istok in the Siser City District near Yekaterinburg. The incident involved a Mercedes-Benz driven by Vladimir Tkachuk — the general director of the company 'Uraldronzavod' and a well-known author of the pro-war Telegram channel 'Turned to War'.
According to sources, the cause of the tragedy was the detonation of an explosive device planted directly under the car's chassis. As a result of the explosion, the driver-bodyguard inside the vehicle died on the spot. Fortunately, Tkachuk himself had not yet entered the cabin when the explosion occurred. However, he sustained serious injuries and was urgently taken by ambulance to intensive care, where he is currently in critical condition.
Investigative authorities have opened a criminal case for attempted murder. The investigation has already begun, but the motives and perpetrators of the terrorist act remain unknown.
Rising Tensions on Russian Territory
The incident involving Vladimir Tkachuk is not an isolated case recently. Russian media report an increase in similar incidents across the country. For instance, in July in the city of Rylsk in the Kursk region, a car carrying local administration officials was blown up on a mine. Russian sources characterized this event as a "planned operation".
Furthermore, earlier near Moscow, the car of a colonel responsible for logistics and ammunition supply for the Russian army was blown up. These events suggest a possible escalation of sabotage activity and a shift in the focus of threats directly to rear regions and key figures of the military-industrial complex.
