A serious emergency has unfolded in the Khmelnytskyi region. Residents were alarmed by loud explosions, the echoes of which spread across the surrounding areas. It turned out that the source of the powerful blasts was a military training ground located in the region.
Detonation at the training ground
According to official data, the incident occurred on July 31, 2026. On the territory of one of the military units subordinate to the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an explosion occurred that escalated into a chain reaction of detonations.
Representatives of the SOF confirmed the incident, noting that relevant services are currently working at the scene. The exact causes of the explosion and the circumstances leading to the tragedy are currently being established. Consequences for the population
The scale of the explosion was significant, necessitating emergency safety measures for the civilian population. The Head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration (RSA), Serhiy Tyurin, reported the creation of an operational headquarters to coordinate work at the scene.
The situation in the areas adjacent to the training ground required an immediate response. With the help of the patrol police, residents of nearby residential buildings were notified of the need to seek shelter urgently. The shockwave caused damage to infrastructure: information has already been received about damage to residential buildings.
