On Friday, July 31, several powerful explosions were heard in Khmelnytskyi. The event occurred against the backdrop of no official air raid alert being declared in the regional center, which drew increased attention from local residents and the media.
Official version and no casualties
Information about the incident was confirmed by the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration (RMA), Serhiy Tyurin. In his statement, he noted that the explosions did indeed take place, however, according to preliminary data, there are no victims or casualties among the civilian population.
"Several explosions were heard in the regional center. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," Tyurin emphasized.
Response of services and work at the scene
Immediately after the incident, all relevant emergency services rushed to the scene. At the moment, specialists are investigating the circumstances and details of what happened. The exact cause of the explosions and the nature of the damage to infrastructure are not yet disclosed.
The head of the RMA urged city residents to remain calm and not panic. He also strongly recommended relying exclusively on official sources of information to avoid the spread of rumors.
Witness accounts
Local residents who witnessed the events report that the epicenter of the explosions was likely Ruzhychna Street. According to them, the sound effects were very loud, however, the air raid alarm did not sound in the city, which added to the unexpected nature of the situation.
