In Kyiv, in the Osokorky district, during an enemy attack, it became evident how even the most vulnerable creatures try to survive in wartime conditions. Footage published online captured a frightened fawn seeking shelter from explosions under a parked car. The injured animal tried to hide from the roar of the shelling, but its plight alarmed passersby.
Rescue with a jack
Compassionate residents reacted quickly to the situation. To free the fawn, they used a jack, carefully lifting the car. First aid was then administered to the animal, which was in a state of shock. Later, it was reported that the deer was taken to the Wildlife Rescue Center, where specialists assessed its condition.
Injuries and stress
Center staff note that the fawn is in a state of severe stress and has injuries sustained during the attack. It is currently receiving all necessary professional care aimed at restoring its physical and psychological health.
Massive strike on Ukraine
In the night of June 2, Russia carried out a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine, using ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia were hit. As a result of the attack, parts of Kyiv were left without power, and public transport is temporarily operating with changes due to damage to the overhead lines.
Consequences of the attack
Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged by the strike. There are reports of six fatalities and more than 80 injured. Russian forces used about 70 missiles and nearly 700 drones. Most were shot down, but dozens of ballistic missiles, which are difficult to intercept with air defense systems, were confirmed to have hit their targets.
The story of the fawn rescued in Kyiv serves as yet another reminder of how war affects not only people but also animals, forced to seek refuge in the most unexpected places.
