Ukrainian Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, in an interview with TSN published by RBC-Ukraine, gave a harsh assessment of Russia's latest mass strikes on the capital. According to him, these attacks are nothing more than an attempt to exert moral pressure on citizens, and their scale represents the limit of what the Russian army has been able to accumulate over several weeks.

The limit of the aggressor's capabilities

Fedorov emphasized that to prepare such large-scale operations, the enemy is forced to accumulate resources for months. What we are seeing now is the maximum that the Russian Federation has been able to achieve at this stage.

"Everything he can accumulate is, as we see, his maximum, which he can achieve at the moment," the minister stated.

The key thesis of the Ukrainian leadership is that shelling Kyiv does not affect the situation on the front lines. Moreover, it is unable to paralyze Ukrainian weapons production, which continues to operate in normal mode.

"Agony and nerves" of the Russian leadership

Fedorov paid special attention to the psychological aspect of the attacks. In his opinion, strikes on the city center and civilians indicate the confusion and nervousness of the Russian leadership.

"But this is some kind of agony and Putin's nerves — trying to strike the city center, killing civilians," the Defense Minister noted.

The cost of the attack: casualties and loss of cultural heritage

In the night of June 15, Russian forces launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv. The Security Service of Ukraine established that the occupiers deliberately attacked the area where the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the "Mystetsky Arsenal" are located, using "Geran-2" type drones.

The consequences of the attack were devastating:

  • A fire broke out in the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
  • Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged.
  • As a result of the strikes, five people were killed and 34 were injured.
  • Buildings of the Alexander Dovzhenko National Film Studio were damaged.

One of the most tragic losses was the destruction of the largest and oldest collection of stage costumes in Ukraine, which burned down in the fire at the film studio.
