Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has officially approved a new professional holiday — Financialists' Day. The corresponding Decree No. 687/2026 was signed on July 31, 2026, and published on the official website of the head of state. Now, every year on July 11, workers in the country's financial sector will celebrate their professional day at the state level.

Purpose of Establishing the Holiday

As stated in the text of the document, the new holiday is established to recognize the significant contribution of financial sector specialists to ensuring the stable operation of Ukraine's entire financial system. The document is also aimed at supporting the further development of professional activities in this key area of the economy.

Initiative of the Ministry of Finance

The initiator of creating the new holiday was the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. It was this department that prepared the draft decree, which was subsequently reviewed and signed by the President. The decree enters into force on the day of its official publication, which means the immediate inclusion of Financialists' Day in the list of state professional holidays of the country.

Context: Other New Holidays

It is worth noting that this is not the only innovation in the calendar of Ukrainian holidays in recent times. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy established the Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — a new military holiday, which is celebrated annually on July 4. Its goal is to support the development of military traditions and to recognize the contribution of units using unmanned technologies in carrying out combat missions.

Thus, the state continues to expand the list of official holidays, paying attention to both civilian and military spheres, emphasizing their strategic importance for the country.
