On June 3, events in various corners of the country and region took a tense turn. During the day, a powerful explosion rocked Dnipro, causing massive smoke and fire. At the same time, during the night of June 3, strikes were launched against infrastructure facilities in Russia, specifically an oil terminal in the port of St. Petersburg.
Strike on a food warehouse in Dnipro
Russian forces struck the territory of Dnipro. According to data reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandra Ganchuk, the attack resulted in a major fire, and a thick cloud of black smoke enveloped the impact area.
Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov clarified on Facebook that the target of the attack was a food warehouse belonging to the ATB supermarket chain. The city head accompanied the message with a resonant phrase contrasting strikes on civilian infrastructure and military objects: "We gave them a combat corvette in Kronstadt. And they gave us ATB warehouses with food in Dnipro".
Casualties and repeated attack
The situation at the scene developed rapidly. Initially, data on casualties was being clarified while rescuers and medics surveyed the area. The work of emergency services was complicated by the fact that Russian forces attacked the Dnipro district again, just as forces were already engaged in eliminating the consequences of the first impact.
According to updated data, six people required medical assistance. Currently, five injured people are in hospitals. Three of them sustained severe injuries and remain under close medical observation. Medical personnel continue to provide necessary care, while relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.
Attack on an oil terminal in St. Petersburg
Parallel to the events in Ukraine, during the night of June 3, an oil terminal in the port of St. Petersburg came under attack. The facility was hit by unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Following a series of explosions on the site, a major fire broke out, which by morning had covered a significant area.
Witnesses reported new detonations against the backdrop of spreading flames. Before the attack began, a threat of drone use was announced in the city. Residents and witnesses published video recordings from the scene: powerful explosions can be heard in the footage, and thick plumes of black smoke are rising above the port area, visible from a significant distance.
