Tuesday, June 16, brought changes to the pricing policies of Ukrainian retailers. Monitoring the cost of basic products revealed mixed dynamics: while prices for cereals and dairy products remain stable, the egg market has seen a noticeable price drop in key chains.
Eggs: price drops in major chains
The most significant changes were recorded in the category of Grade C1 chicken eggs. Compared to Monday's figures, the cost of a dozen eggs dropped noticeably in two major retail chains. This is a rare case of positive dynamics for shoppers, allowing them to save a bit on this staple food item.
Buckwheat and milk: stability on the shelves
The situation in the cereal segment remains unchanged. The cost of a 1kg package of buckwheat groats in all checked supermarkets corresponds to the prices of June 15. Shoppers will encounter neither a rise nor a fall in the price of this popular grain.
A similar picture is observed with dairy products. Prices for pasteurized and ultra-pasteurized milk with a fat content of 2.5–2.6% have not changed compared to the previous day. Price stability for milk allows for family budget planning without accounting for sharp spikes.
Bread and butter: targeted changes
In the bakery products category, the situation has changed in the "Silpo" chain. New budget items have appeared here, altering the structure of the lowest price tags. In other supermarkets, bread prices remain fixed at Monday's levels.
In the segment of refined sunflower oil (0.5 liters), mixed dynamics were recorded on June 16. While prices may have risen in some chains, they dropped in others, creating an effect of targeted fluctuations in the market.
Where to find value?
For budget-conscious shoppers, monitoring offers across different chains remains relevant. The price drop on eggs in certain stores makes them an attractive offer, while the stability of prices for buckwheat and milk guarantees predictable spending on staple foods.
