The end of May is bringing surprises to Ukrainians: instead of the expected warmth, people are once again reaching for warmer clothes. But there is no need to panic — June is already ready to fix the situation and bring back the long-awaited summer. However, before that, a few rainy days must be endured.

Weather on the edge: rain and wind

Currently, a low-pressure system is positioned over the country, guaranteeing precipitation in the coming days. Already tomorrow, May 30, southern and eastern regions will experience brief rain showers, with thunderstorms possible during the day in some areas. At night, no precipitation is expected in Zakarpattia and the east, but winds will blow predominantly from the northwest at 5–10 m/s. In southwestern Ukraine, gusts may reach 15–20 m/s.

Temperature range: from +4 to +19

Night temperatures over the next three days will fluctuate between +4...+11°C, which is noticeably cool. During the day, the air will warm up to +12...+19°C. However, starting Monday, June 1, the situation will begin to change: temperatures will rise to +18...+24°C, and winds will weaken to 3–8 m/s.

June warmth: up to +29 degrees

On June 2 and 3, weather is expected to be mostly dry, except in western and southwestern regions where brief rain showers with thunderstorms are possible. Night temperatures will rise to +9...+15°C, while daytime highs will continue to climb.

From June 4 to 8, the forecast becomes even more favorable: mostly without precipitation, except in western and northern regions where brief rain showers are possible. At night, temperatures will reach +12...+18°C, and during the day, they will climb to +23...+29°C. Thus, by the middle of the first decade of June, Ukraine will experience real heat.

Why is summer delayed?

Earlier, we reported that summer officially arrived in Ukraine with a delay this year. Spring gave way to the next season not according to schedule, and meteorologists explain this by peculiarities of atmospheric fronts. Meanwhile, at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, they continue to monitor weather conditions and forecast what the first month of summer will be like overall.
