The Russian occupation army on temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine is resorting to a new, extremely dangerous logistics tactic. In an attempt to evade strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers have begun masking fuel supplies using civilian transport.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Center for National Resistance (CNR), fuel tanks are now being hidden inside ordinary trucks used for transporting agricultural products — grain trucks.
Specialized transport has become a target
The reason for changing the logistics scheme is the high effectiveness of Ukrainian drones. Specialized fuel tankers, easily identifiable by their appearance, have become too vulnerable a target. To “blend” their supplies into the general flow of vehicles, the Russian army is deliberately using civilian transport as cover.
The Center for National Resistance officially confirmed the details of this scheme: “The occupation army continues to seek new ways to covertly supply fuel to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The Russian Armed Forces have begun transporting fuel in plastic tanks placed inside grain trucks”.
Threat to the civilian population
Such actions by the occupiers create a direct threat to residents on occupied territories. While grain trucks were previously safe vehicles, now any such truck can become a legitimate target for Ukrainian military forces. Furthermore, transporting explosive fuel in unsuitable conditions, without proper protection and marking, risks accidental explosions and fires.
Experts note that the use of agricultural machinery indicates the desperation of the Russian side. The enemy is willing to risk civilian lives to meet their military needs, turning logistics into a deadly trap.
Effectiveness of camouflage is declining
Despite attempts at secrecy, the effectiveness of such camouflage is rapidly declining. The Ukrainian underground and intelligence services are closely monitoring the movements of suspicious trucks. The coordinates of grain trucks carrying fuel quickly become known to Ukrainian military forces, allowing them to neutralize the threat.
Ukrainian defense forces regularly destroy enemy warehouses and convoys, striking not only at the front lines but also deep in the rear. Special attention is paid to Russian oil refineries. Recently, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a successful strike on one of the largest refineries in southern Russia.
Pressure on the enemy's logistics is also intensifying from the sea. Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces struck 13 ships of the Russian “shadow fleet” on the approaches to occupied Crimea during the night of July 10. The scale of the attacks is so great that Russian authorities were forced to officially admit: fuel problems in the country began precisely due to systematic drone and missile strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
