On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, major fuel station operators in Ukraine updated their retail fuel prices. The main trend of the day was another price hike for diesel fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (autogas) while price stability was maintained across all types of gasoline. Thus, the pricing gap between motor gasoline and diesel/gas continues to widen, which has already become a consistent feature of the autumn season in the domestic fuel market.
What Changed at OKKO, WOG, and SOCAR Networks
At OKKO and WOG networks, standard and premium diesel fuel went up by 1.00 UAH per liter. At WOG, the cost of autogas increased by the exact same amount — 1.00 UAH/l. The SOCAR operator revised prices more selectively: premium diesel DIESEL NANO Extro added 1.00 UAH/l, and autogas jumped right away by 1.50 UAH/l, reaching 54.40 UAH per liter. This is one of the most noticeable gas spikes among major networks over the current week.
Updates at UPG and Ukrnafta
The UPG network updated its price tags for two positions: diesel fuel rose by 1.00 UAH/l, and autogas by 1.60 UAH/l, which became the maximum gas increase among the listed operators. State-owned Ukrnafta limited itself to a hike on just one position — the cost of autogas grew by 1.00 UAH/l, whereas gasoline and diesel prices at the network remained unchanged. Collectively, this confirms that gas and diesel are precisely the "growth points" in the retail gas station basket at the moment.
Why Gasoline Remains Unchanged
Unlike diesel and gas, all types of gasoline (A-92, A-95, A-98) at the major networks retained their previous levels. This asymmetry is explained by differences in logistics and cost structure: gasoline is more heavily tied to import supplies and exchange quotations, whereas diesel and gas are sensitive to domestic demand, seasonal factors, and processing costs. Gasoline stability against the backdrop of gas and diesel growth creates a mixed picture for the end consumer: gasoline car owners do not feel pressure yet, while owners of diesel cars and autogas installations face regular recalculation of their refueling budgets.
Expectations Until the End of October
According to experts, the upward price trend for certain types of fuel will continue until the end of October. In particular, Serhiy Kuyun, commenting on market dynamics, pointed out that the increase in gas station prices is driven by a combination of factors — from raw material costs and logistics to seasonal changes in demand. For consumers, this means that the current levels recorded on October 20 are unlikely to be final: additional targeted adjustments for diesel and gas are probable in the coming weeks. It is recommended to monitor price updates at specific networks, as the increase step may differ for each operator.
