Gasoline and diesel prices rise again: WOG raises prices by 1 hryvnia, '100-octane' gasoline approaches 97 UAH

The Ukrainian fuel market continues to show a steady upward trend. As of Tuesday, September 8, 2026, one of the largest fuel station chains — WOG — announced an adjustment to its price list: all types of gasoline and diesel fuel increased by 1.00 UAH per liter. According to RBC-Ukraine, this is not the first price increase of the current week, which makes the price growth systematic rather than a one-off event. Drivers refueling at stations of this chain are effectively facing a cumulative effect: over just a few days, the cost of fuel has risen by more than one hryvnia.

New WOG price list: what costs how much

According to data published by RBC-Ukraine on September 8, current fuel prices at WOG stations are as follows: A-95 Euro gasoline — 86.90 UAH/l; Mustang 95 gasoline — 89.90 UAH/l; A-100 gasoline ('100-octane') — 96.90 UAH/l. In the diesel segment, Euro-5 diesel costs 96.90 UAH/l, while Mustang diesel is 99.90 UAH/l. The only item that has retained its previous price is liquefied gas (autogas) — 45.50 UAH/l. Thus, Mustang diesel fuel has formally crossed the psychological threshold of 99 hryvnias, while the highest-octane gasoline has approached 97 hryvnias per liter.

'Ukrnafta' holds the most affordable price segment

Against the backdrop of price increases in the private sector, the state company 'Ukrnafta' continues to occupy the position of the most affordable offer for Ukrainian drivers. According to RBC-Ukraine, prices at 'Ukrnafta' stations remain lower than those of private chains, making them attractive for those who seek to minimize fuel expenses. The price gap between the state and private segments, according to analysts, averages several hryvnias per liter, which, when regularly refueling a 40–50-liter tank, makes a noticeable difference in a car owner's monthly budget.

Weekly dynamics: three increases in seven days

An analysis of publications from the current week allows us to trace the sequence of price adjustments. Thus, the publication novosti.ua reported on September 3 about a 1-hryvnia increase in gasoline and diesel prices at major fuel stations. Already on September 6, glavcom.ua recorded an updated price list, and on September 8, RBC-Ukraine noted another increase at the WOG chain. The cumulative increase over the week for certain fuel brands amounted to 2–3 UAH/l, which, at an average consumption of 8 liters per 100 km, means an additional 16–24 UAH per every 1,000 km driven. Experts link the sustained growth to a combination of factors: exchange-rate pressure on imported raw materials, logistical costs under wartime conditions, and seasonal demand growth.

The publication novosti.ua dates the 1-hryvnia increase to September 3, while glavcom.ua publishes current prices as of September 6, and RBC-Ukraine records a new increase precisely on September 8. One version is that different fuel station chains (WOG, 'Ukrnafta', 'OKKO', and others) adjust their price lists at different times, and each publication reflects a change in a specific chain. Another version suggests that some outlets operate with delayed data or round off dates. In any case, for a driver, the key reference point remains the current price list of the specific station where they refuel, since no single 'nationwide' increase on one day is recorded.

Practical consequences for car owners

For a typical driver with a consumption of 8 l/100 km and a mileage of 1,500 km per month, a difference of 1 UAH/l means an additional 120 UAH in monthly expenses. When switching to A-100 gasoline at a price of 96.90 UAH/l, the monthly fuel budget at the same parameters will be about 11,628 UAH. Diesel cars refueling with Mustang at 99.90 UAH/l, at a consumption of 6 l/100 km and a mileage of 1,500 km, will spend around 9,990 UAH. Autogas, having retained its price of 45.50 UAH/l, remains the most economical option: at a consumption of 11 l/100 km and a mileage of 1,500 km, expenses will be about 7,583 UAH. Thus, the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive type of fuel in the WOG price list exceeds 51 UAH per liter, which makes the choice of fuel a significant financial decision.
