German biathlete Vanessa Voigt has decided to complete her preparation for the 2026/27 season according to an individual plan. The athlete will not join the national team's upcoming training camp, as officially announced by the German Ski Association.

Reasons and Details of Individual Preparation

The 28-year-old leader of the German team asked the federation leadership for permission to train separately. Voigt explained this by the need to focus on her own needs and optimize her form before the start. After detailed negotiations, the German Ski Association satisfied the biathlete's request, retaining all necessary infrastructure and team resources for her.

In October, the national team is heading to a training camp in Ramsau, Austria, and in November, the athletes will have training sessions in Davos, Switzerland, and Obertilliach, Austria. Voigt will skip these centralized events, but this will not affect her competitive status.

Guarantees and Sporting Prospects

Despite refusing the general training camps, Vanessa Voigt has already secured her place in the official German team roster for the first stage of the 2026/27 World Cup. We remind you that the opening competitions will take place in Kontiolahti, Finland, from November 23 to 29.

Such trust from the coaching staff is due to her stable results last season. Voigt finished the previous World Cup in 14th place in the overall standings, showing the best result among all representatives of the German team and confidently entering the top 15.
