US Senator Lindsey Graham, during his visit to Kyiv, stated the critical importance of the partnership between the United States and Ukraine in the field of unmanned technologies. In his opinion, abandoning this cooperation would be a strategic mistake for Washington.
Technological breakthrough at the front
During a briefing, Graham shared his impressions of visiting a secret Ukrainian facility located deep underground. The senator described the plant as "ultra-modern," producing unmanned systems that surpass similar developments in any other country in the world.
"They are the most advanced than anyone else on the planet. You have to do it right in Ukraine to survive," the politician emphasized. He noted that it is precisely the innovations and courage of the Ukrainian military that have allowed the country, which is ten times smaller than its opponent in numbers, to dominate the battlefield and inflict losses on the enemy comparable to the scale of World War II.
Threat to the US and the need for an alliance
Lindsey Graham warned that drones in skilled hands could become a "nightmare" for any power. Quoting Jeb Bush, he expressed concern that the US could become vulnerable to technologies that could even appear in Cuba. In this regard, the senator believes that partnership with Ukraine is necessary to strengthen the defense capabilities of the United States.
"It would be a huge mistake for America not to cooperate with Ukraine in the field of drones. They are ready to help us because we were ready to stand by Ukraine in its darkest days," Graham said.
Political context and sanctions
The politician also touched upon diplomatic and legislative issues. He reported that the text of the bill on tough sanctions against Russia has already been coordinated with President Trump's administration, and its approval by Congress is expected. Earlier, in December 2025, Graham had already called on Washington to take a tougher stance towards Moscow, noting the ineffectiveness of current diplomatic efforts.
Concluding his speech, the senator declared the existence of a "magical moment in time." According to him, if in the coming months the US correctly organizes aid, increasing the lethality of Ukrainian weapons, this could force the international community to stop supporting Vladimir Putin and help bring the war to an end.
