According to data published by Insider Gaming, the leak of files and video footage attributed to the hacker Cyberleek, as well as a separate dump of Xbox Graphics Capture files, allowed enthusiasts to reconstruct the structural mechanics and topography of the GTA VI game world on the updated RAGE engine. The obtained materials represent the most detailed description to date of the scale of the fictional Leonida State. All elements listed below are based on the analysis of leaked data and have not been officially confirmed by the developer Rockstar Games.
Topography of Leonida State: Five Counties and an Archipelago
Analysis of telemetry and an overview flight over the game space, according to analysts, revealed five major administrative counties. The territory covers both dense urban districts of Vice City and Vice Beach, as well as swampy lowlands and rural areas. Among the major islands named are Dalton Island, Tequesta Retreat, Gloriana Key, and Catalan Key, which, according to leaked data, are connected by a system of bridges and ferry crossings, forming the southern archipelago of the state.
Transport Infrastructure and Airspace
The reconstructed map confirms the presence of an extensive operational passenger and freight railway network running through the entire continental territory. In addition, skybox data — the maximum flight height — indicates a threefold increase in airspace compared to Los Santos from GTA V, which suggests an expansion of the vertical scale of the open world.
Medicine and Tolerance Mechanics: Zombix Drug
As noted by Tom's Hardware, leaked gameplay elements demonstrate the development of survival mechanics that previously debuted in Red Dead Redemption 2. In particular, the interface of the medical drug Zombix was shown: interface hints indicate that frequent use of the stimulant reduces health regeneration speed, introducing an addiction mechanic and the need to alternate treatment methods.
Honor System and Functional Trunk
Analogous to the mechanic from Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA VI is expected to feature an Honor System: the actions of the protagonists in the open world directly affect the attitude of surrounding NPCs, police aggressiveness, and the availability of illegal contacts. The leak also recorded a functional trunk: heavy-caliber weapons are stored in the car's trunk, which limits the character's carryable arsenal and requires tactical planning of raids. The XAB.info publication covered the chronology of the hacker's conflict with the developers and subsequent waves of leaks in a separate article.
