The company had previously named only the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as the target platforms for the sixth installment of its flagship project. However, the Cdiscount document, which lists games that are not eligible for special discounts, explicitly mentions a port for Nintendo's new console, sparking widespread buzz in the gaming community.
How the leak happened
The original source of the information was an internal Cdiscount file listing exclusions from promotional discounts. Photos of the document were published on social media by the French outlet SwitchActu, after which the news quickly spread across global gaming media. RBC-Ukraine and a number of other publications confirmed the authenticity of the screenshots, noting that the file lists specific platform and edition names that Rockstar Games had not publicly announced. The very fact that this data ended up in the retailer's system indicates that information about the Switch 2 version was already circulating in the supply chain before the official announcement.
Four unannounced editions
Particularly interesting for collectors and fans of the series was the list of editions specified in the Cdiscount document. In addition to the standard release, the file lists the Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition, Collector's Edition, and Ultimate Collector's Edition — for the Switch 2, Xbox, and PS5 simultaneously. At the time of the leak, Rockstar Games had not held any presentations regarding the physical and digital editions of the sixth game, so the appearance of such a detailed list in the retailer's database came as a surprise. The Ultimate Collector's Edition, judging by analogy with previous entries in the series, may include exclusive bonuses, a statue, or an art book, although the document does not reveal specific details.
Context: not just GTA 6 on the list
The same Cdiscount exclusion list also contained other major unannounced items. In particular, it mentions a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time — the classic 1998 game that Nintendo had not previously confirmed in an updated form. The document also features a limited-edition console marking the 40th anniversary of the Zelda franchise. The combination of these entries strengthens confidence in the document's authenticity: the retailer likely received preliminary data from several publishers to prepare warehouse logistics and pricing.

Despite the credibility of the leak, it is important to emphasize: Rockstar Games has not confirmed the release of GTA 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2. Until the company makes an official statement, the information remains at the level of retailer documentation, which in theory could have been prepared based on preliminary negotiations.
