The hot weather that has kept many regions of Ukraine in a "heat trap" in recent days will begin to recede. Meteorologists are forecasting the arrival of a cold atmospheric front, which will radically change the weather picture as early as July 3. The stifling heat will be replaced by thunderstorms, brief rains, and a noticeable drop in temperatures.

RBC-Ukraine reports this, citing data from meteorologist and synoptic Natalka Didenko. According to the expert, the activity of the cold front will be the main factor determining the weather in the country over these weekends.

Gusts and temperature contrasts

The specialist warns that a sudden change in weather conditions carries certain risks. The combination of strong heat, which has not yet fully subsided, and the intrusion of cold air creates conditions for significant temperature contrasts. This can provoke the development of powerful thunderstorm phenomena.

"During thunderstorms, considering the strong heat and significant temperature contrasts, gusts are possible," Didenko warned. In this regard, the meteorologist strongly recommends that drivers take care of their vehicle safety in advance and choose a sheltered place for parking to avoid damage from falling branches or strong winds.

Where the rain will come and where it will remain hot

The precipitation map for July 3 shows an uneven distribution of weather phenomena across the country. According to the forecast, only the eastern part of Ukraine will manage to avoid downpours. The rest of the territory will be under the influence of precipitation and thunderstorm activity.

Nevertheless, the heat will not disappear everywhere instantly. In regions that will not be hit by the main blow of the cold front, the air will warm up to +30...+34°C during the day. However, in those areas where the front passes, the temperature will "calm down" to comfortable values.

Situation in Kyiv and future forecast

The capital of Ukraine will also not remain on the sidelines of weather changes. If on July 2 the air temperature in Kyiv remained above the +30°C mark, then the next day a noticeable cooling is expected. The heat will weaken, and the thermometer columns will drop to +27 degrees.

According to the synoptic, this is just the beginning of the process. In the future, the arrival of an even fresher and more comfortable air mass is expected, which will finally dispel the summer heat.

Advice for weather-sensitive people

A sudden change in weather conditions often becomes a test for people sensitive to atmospheric changes. Didenko reminded that weather-sensitive people should be especially attentive to their well-being on such days, as pressure and temperature fluctuations can negatively affect health.

Recall that at the end of June, the heat in Ukraine was already breaking records. On Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, specialists recorded new historical temperature maximums in a number of regions and cities. Now, however, nature is preparing a sudden change of scenario, returning more moderate weather conditions.
