Streaming service HBO Max has released a selection of new stills from the upcoming Harry Potter series, published on the platform's official social media on November 3. The material, captioned with the phrase "See you at Hogwarts," features seven collages showcasing characters and sets from the new adaptation of J.K. Rowling's books. The publication has become one of the season's most anticipated promo events: for the first time, viewers got a detailed look at the young wizards, key adult characters, and the interiors of the magic school.

What Was Shown in the New Stills

Among the published images is a scene where Harry shakes hands with Dumbledore, as well as Ron, Hermione, and other students in school uniforms in the Great Hall. The creators paid special attention to Hogwarts interiors: long tables and floating candles in the Great Hall, classrooms with cauldrons, and a greenhouse where students have gathered. Separate shots are dedicated to Hagrid—he is shown both in his hut and with a lantern near the train. The selection concludes with students walking through the forest, night scenes, and landscapes surrounding the school.

Cast of the New Adaptation

The lead roles in the series are played by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Dumbledore is played by John Lithgow, and Hagrid by Nick Frost. The cast also features Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape. Thus, the platform has assembled the complete core cast for the first part of the story.

Plot and Format of the First Season

The first season is titled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and will consist of eight episodes. The plot is based on J.K. Rowling's first book: eleven-year-old Harry receives an invitation letter to Hogwarts, discovers the world of magic, makes friends, and faces danger tied to his past. The eight-episode season format allows the novel's events to be developed in much more detail than was possible in the 2001 feature film.

Project Team and Release Date

Francesca Gardiner serves as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer of the series, while Mark Mylod acts as executive producer and director of several episodes. The premiere of the first season is scheduled for Christmas—December 25, 2026—simultaneously on HBO and HBO Max. The new stills published in early November mark another phase in promoting the project ahead of its premiere.
