Ukrainians can expect a combination of pleasant warmth and heavy precipitation at the beginning of the second half of June. According to a forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cited by RBC-Ukraine, the weather on June 5 will be varied: it will be hot in some regions and wet in others.
Temperature Background: from +23 to +28 degrees
Despite the likelihood of rain, the day is expected to be warm. Meteorologist Natalia Didenko reports that daytime air temperatures across the country will fluctuate between +23 and +26 degrees. However, in the south of the country, thermometer readings may rise higher, reaching +28 degrees.
Precipitation Map: where it will be dry
The main feature of the weather on June 5 will be rain, which is expected in many regions. However, there are territories where one can expect a lack of significant precipitation:
- Southern Ukraine;
- A narrow strip running from the Kyiv region southwards.
Heavy showers will bypass the capital. In Kyiv, meteorologists forecast only local, brief light rain.
Additional Weather Phenomena
In addition to precipitation, visibility will deteriorate in several regions. Fog is expected at night and in the morning in some areas of Zakarpattia, Prikarpattia, as well as in the south and northeast of the country.
Context: consequences of May's bad weather
This forecast comes against the backdrop of the consequences of unstable weather at the end of spring. In May, gusts and hail dealt a significant blow to the future harvest: in some areas, flowers and fruits on trees were damaged, and diseases and pests became active on crops.
At the same time, May 2026 in Kyiv was 0.5 degrees warmer than the climate norm and set three temperature records at once.
