Weather changes are coming to Ukraine. Today, June 13, air temperatures will noticeably drop across the country. While residents previously enjoyed summer warmth, meteorologists now promise cooler and more comfortable conditions, albeit with the risk of sudden weather phenomena.

Temperature drop and local precipitation

According to a forecast published by RBC-Ukraine citing meteorologist Natalia Didenko, in most regions, daytime temperatures will range from +17 to +23 degrees. It will be coolest in the western part of the country, where temperatures will drop even lower.

However, the heat will not disappear immediately everywhere. In the eastern regions and the southeast, the air will still warm up to +26...+29 degrees. It is in these areas that the meteorologist predicts short-term rains, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms.

Warning about squalls and hail

Natalia Didenko urges citizens to be vigilant. Although significant precipitation is not expected over most of the territory, dangerous phenomena such as hail and squalls are likely in areas of thunderstorm activity.

Weather in Kyiv

The weekend in the capital promises to be fresh and comfortable. Daytime air temperatures will be around +20 degrees. The wind will blow predominantly from the northwest; its gusts will be moderate, but local intensifications are possible.

Global context

This temperature drop occurs against the backdrop of global climate change. Last month, Europe experienced a powerful heatwave, setting monthly records in the UK, France, and Spain. The UN World Meteorological Organization has already warned that by 2030, the Earth will almost certainly experience a new global temperature record.

Sofia Sadogurska, an expert from the climate department of the public organization "Ecodia," previously told RBC-Ukraine in an interview about the consequences of global climate change that Ukraine can expect in the future.
