Saturday, June 7, will be a real meteorological kaleidoscope for the residents of Ukraine. Meteorologists forecast a sharp contrast in temperatures and weather conditions: while people in the south of the country will enjoy the summer heat, other regions will face cooling, downpours, and even hail.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has warned of a difficult situation on Sunday. The weather in Ukraine will be extremely uneven. Tomorrow the sky will be predominantly cloudy with clearings, but this will not save from precipitation.
Where to expect thunderstorms and hail
Almost the entire territory of the country, with the exception of the eastern regions, will be under the influence of moderate rains and thunderstorms. Meteorologists promise that during the day, hail and gusty wind strengthening up to 15–20 m/s are possible in certain areas.
Particular attention is required for the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions. Significant rains are forecasted precisely here. The wind will be variable, and in the western regions, a gusty north-western wind with a speed of 3–8 m/s is expected. At night and in the morning, fog is possible in some places in Zakarpattia.
Situation in Kyiv and Kyiv region
The capital and the region are in the zone of increased attention of meteorologists. A yellow danger level (Level I) has been declared for Kyiv and the Kyiv region. On Sunday, June 7, the following is expected:
- Significant rains;
- Thunderstorms;
- Hail in certain areas;
- Wind gusts up to 15–20 m/s.
The temperature background in Kyiv will be moderate: at night the air will warm up to 16–18°C, and during the day the thermometer will rise to 21–23°C.
Temperature contrasts
The spread of temperatures across the country will be impressive. At night, 13–18°C is expected in most regions, while in the west it will be cooler — 10–15°C.
Daytime figures also vary. While in the western regions, as well as in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions, the temperature will be 20–25°C, in the south of Ukraine the air will warm up to 24–29°C. Thus, residents of the southern regions will be able to feel the real summer, while their compatriots in the west and north will be forced to keep an umbrella at hand.
Meteorologists noted at the beginning of the month that the first week of summer would be warm, but the rains are not going to retreat. Short-term precipitation with thunderstorms is most likely in the west, north, and Vinnytsia region, creating a complex weather picture for the weekend.
