Saturday, June 6, promises to be a hot day for most of Ukraine. Air temperatures in some regions will reach +29 degrees, however, meteorologists warn of the risk of local precipitation and thunderstorms.
Temperature record in the south and east
According to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, it will be warmest in the southern and eastern territories of the country. It is here that thermometer readings may rise to +29°C. In the west of the country, the weather will be moderately warm: the air temperature will be from +22 to +24 degrees.
In Kyiv, residents can expect comfortable night temperatures from +17 to +19 degrees. During the day in the capital, it will be hot — from +26 to +28 degrees. However, meteorologists warn that moderate, and locally heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms are possible during the daytime hours.
Where to expect fog and downpours
Weather conditions will be uneven. In Zakarpattia and Prykarpattia, fog is possible locally at night and early in the morning, which will require drivers to exercise increased caution. Short-term rains with thunderstorms are most likely in the west and north of the country, as well as in the Vinnytsia region.
It is important to note that the first week of summer in Ukraine, as specialists predicted earlier, will be warm, but the rains will not subside. The weather can change rapidly, so it is worth following the latest reports.
Risk of rising water levels
Due to the expected precipitation from June 6 to 8, a rise in water levels is possible on the left tributaries of the Dniester River flowing through the Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions. Experts forecast a rise of 0.2–0.7 meters.
Despite this, specialists do not expect serious negative consequences. However, in areas where local downpours occur, significant local runoff may form, which could lead to temporary inconveniences in certain settlements.
