On June 26, hot weather is expected in Ukraine, although temperature readings will be uneven across the country. The highest temperatures have been recorded in the west. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center and forecasts by meteorologist Natalya Didenko.

Weather conditions in the regions

According to explanations from specialists at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the weather in most regions is determined by an area of high atmospheric pressure and a warm air mass slowly spreading from the west. Variable cloudiness is forecast for the country as a whole. The wind will blow from the north and northwest at a speed of 7–12 m/s.

Most of the country will remain without precipitation. Short-term rains with thunderstorms are possible only in the southern part, eastern regions, and Vinnytsia Oblast — due to daytime atmospheric instability.

Situation in Kyiv

According to Natalya Didenko, rain is unlikely in the capital. The maximum air temperature in Kyiv will be +26...+27 degrees.

Heatwave in Europe and its consequences

Western European countries have already been covered by a strong heatwave — air temperatures reach around +40°C. There are already reports of human casualties. The most difficult situation is in France, where 48 people have died.

What awaits Ukraine in the coming days

Already over the coming weekend, the heat will arrive in Ukraine from the west. The western regions will feel it first. On Sunday, temperatures will reach +32...+37 degrees across almost the entire country, and even higher in some places.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported on the climate changes Ukrainians are already feeling in their daily lives — from increased electricity consumption to the need to water plants more often and monitor their health in conditions of high temperatures.
