The wave of abnormal heat that has been sweeping across Ukraine in recent days is gradually subsiding. Meteorologists have already shared encouraging forecasts: air temperatures in the coming days will return to comfortable levels, bringing long-awaited relief to the country's residents.

Dialogue with forecasters: when will it get cooler?

Information about the impending cooling has become the subject of active discussion on social media. On the evening of Tuesday, June 30, a user on the Threads platform addressed the official account of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMTC). The user was interested in whether it is true that within a week, daytime temperatures in the country would drop to +20°C.

On Wednesday morning, July 1, center specialists gave an official response. According to them, the heatwave will begin to subside before the end of the current week. This means that a sharp change in weather conditions will occur much faster than assumed in the question.

Weekend forecast: +20...+25°C

According to current data from UkrGMTC, a significant change in the weather picture is expected as early as Saturday, July 4. Forecasters predict the following temperature indicators:

  • On most of the country's territory, daytime temperatures will range from +20°C to +25°C.
  • In the southeast and east of Ukraine, indicators may be slightly higher due to the peculiarities of air mass circulation.

On Sunday, July 5, the cool weather will most likely persist. The temperature background will remain stable, allowing residents to enjoy warm but not exhausting sunshine.

Where will the heat persist?

Despite the general trend towards cooling, forecasters warn about the uneven distribution of temperatures. In particular, in the southwest of the country, on July 1, strong heat is still possible in some places. In these regions, air temperatures may reach +35...+38°C. This is due to the fact that the cold atmospheric front is moving unevenly.

Meteorologist Natalia Didenko clarified the details of the process on her Facebook. According to her, the cold front will reach Ukraine as early as Thursday, July 2. First, the heat will retreat from the western regions, and on July 3–4, temperature changes will affect most regions of the country.

Precipitation and thunderstorms: what to expect?

In addition to changes in the temperature regime, forecasters promise an intensification of precipitation. In the next three days (July 1–3), there will be little rain, but it will be in the form of short-term downpours. Thunderstorms are likely in a number of regions, and hail is even possible in some places.

Special attention should be paid to the warning about gusty wind intensification. In the zones of passage of thunderstorm fronts, wind gust speeds can reach 15–20 m/s.

Importance of the current forecast

UkrGMTC specialists emphasize that weather processes are dynamic, and the forecast may be adjusted as the situation changes. To always stay up to date with current information, Ukrainians and guests of the country are advised to follow official sources and updates on the hydrometeorological center's website.

Thus, although some regions still have to endure the last days of abnormal heat, the general trend points to the imminent arrival of comfortable weather, which will be a pleasant conclusion to the first week of July.
