The reigning Ukrainian futsal champion, Kyiv's HIT, defeated the Netherlands' Tigers Roermond 5-3 away in the second matchday of the Champions League main round. This victory was the Ukrainian club's first in the current tournament campaign and immediately guaranteed them a spot in the playoffs without waiting for the final group stage match. The match ended 3-5 in favor of the Kyiv side (2-2 and 1-3 by halves).

Result and Standings

Following two main round matches, HIT has four points, placing the team first in their group. The lower bound is also of key importance: after defeating the Dutch side, the Kyiv team can no longer drop below third position, which, according to the regulations, automatically ensures participation in the playoffs. Thus, the Ukrainian club relieved themselves of tournament pressure a round before the end of the group stage. I recall that in the opening round, HIT drew with Portugal's Benfica, so the victory in Roermond became the first earned points "double" of the campaign.

Match Chronology: Pervieyev's Brace and Pedyash's Strike

The Kyiv side started the match actively and were leading 2-0 by the ninth minute. Both goals were scored by Vladyslav Pervieyev: first, he skillfully beat the goalkeeper, and then tapped in Ihor Chernyavsky's cross. The Ukrainians failed to maintain the advantage before halftime — Tigers Roermond leveled the score through El Allouchi (11th minute) and Borite (19th). Immediately after the game resumed, the Kyiv side took the lead again: in the 24th minute, Oleksandr Pedyash scored with a shot from almost a zero angle, which became one of the most spectacular moments of the match. In the 28th minute, Artur Podlyuk extended the guests' lead. The Dutch almost immediately reduced the gap (Mella, 29th minute), but in the 33rd minute, Maksym Malynovskyi set the final score at 3-5.

Third Advancement to the Next Stage in Club History

For HIT, this is already the club's third historical advancement to the next stage of the Futsal Champions League. In the 2023/24 season, the Kyiv side reached the elite round, and in the 2025/26 campaign, following a change in competition format, they finished their run at the start of the playoffs. The current campaign once again confirms the club's status as a regular participant in European competition at the top group level. In the match against Tigers Roermond, Pervieyev (two goals), Pedyash, Podlyuk, and Malynovskyi scored for the visitors, while El Allouchi, Borite, and Mella scored three for the hosts.

What's Next: The Final Group Stage Match

HIT will play their final, third group stage match on Saturday, October 31, at 18:00 Kyiv time. The Ukrainians' opponent will be Spain's El Pozo. Since reaching the playoffs is already secured, the upcoming meeting will not have decisive tournament significance, but it will allow the team to establish their final position in the group. It was previously reported that Dnipro's Atletik also found out all their opponents in the Futsal Champions League main round, meaning two Ukrainian clubs will be represented in European competition this season.
