A conflict is escalating in Mykolaiv between residents and utility services. Residents of a multi-apartment building at 9 Vyacheslav Chernovola Street have reported a complete lack of control over the sanitary condition of the building. According to them, the basements, stairwells, and the apartments themselves have turned into breeding grounds for insects.
"Cry of despair": the scale of the problem
The situation in the building has reached a critical point. A post describing the problem was published in the Contact Center group of the Mykolaiv City Council. The author of the post, Natalia Onopriychuk, describes the situation as a "cry of despair".
The woman claims that insects — fleas and cockroaches — are present in abundance not only in the basement areas and on the stairwells but have also penetrated the residential apartments. Particular concern is caused by the health of children, who are becoming victims of insect bites.
Futile struggle of residents
Residents of the building are trying to solve the problem on their own, but their efforts are met with insurmountable obstacles. According to Natalia Onopriychuk, residents regularly disinfect their apartments, but this does not yield the desired results.
The key problem remains the inaction of the property management company "Misto dlia liudiei" (City for People), which services this residential complex. Despite numerous appeals from residents, the situation in the building has not changed, and sanitary norms continue to be violated.
Demand for government reaction
Posting the complaint in the city contact center has become the residents' last attempt to draw attention to the problem. The fact that a child is "covered in bites" indicates that the sanitary situation in building No. 9 on Chernovola Street requires immediate intervention by specialized services and supervisory authorities.
