A massive nighttime attack on the Kyiv region, particularly on Irpin, has led to a sharp increase in the number of casualties. According to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, 17 people had sustained injuries in the city by morning, including eight children. Earlier preliminary reports indicated six injured, three of whom were children, showing that the assessment of the strike's aftermath was revised upward throughout the day.

Scale of Destruction in Irpin

As of 11:00, 84 objects have been damaged in Irpin. The list includes 70 private houses, four multi-story buildings, and six cars. In addition to residential property and transport, industrial and warehouse premises suffered damage. According to the regional administration, three people are reported missing in the city, adding an element of uncertainty regarding the final losses.

Nature of the Nighttime Strike

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Russian side used 16 ballistic missiles and over two hundred unmanned aerial vehicles during the night. According to him, more than ten energy facilities across eleven regions of the country were damaged in the attack, indicating the wide geographical scope of the infrastructure strikes.

Impact on Power Supply

Due to the strikes on energy infrastructure, Zelenskyy estimated that at least 550,000 households were left without electricity. Blackouts affected eleven regions at once, pointing to a systemic attack on the power grid and the need for prolonged restoration work to resume electricity supplies.

Dynamics of Casualty Data

The casualty figures in Irpin were updated throughout the morning: from six people in the initial reports to 17 by 11:00. The rising number of wounded, including children, demonstrates that the tally of the attack's consequences is not yet complete and may be revised as information arrives from emergency services and medical institutions.
