FC Polissya head coach Ruslan Rotan shared his thoughts on the psychological pressure the team faces at the current stage of the 2026 football season. Successful performances and the club's new status in the Ukrainian Premier League have attracted increased attention from fans, experts, and opponents. According to the manager, every opponent now takes the field against Polissya with completely different motivation and tactical preparation, which significantly complicates the task for the players.
Psychological pressure of a new status
Ruslan Rotan openly acknowledges the existence of serious pressure, but emphasizes that he perceives it as an absolute normal phenomenon in professional sports. The coach notes that the team must not avoid this burden of responsibility, but learn to react to it correctly, turning an additional stimulus into fuel for new victories. Opponents are changing their usual game patterns, trying to close down as much as possible and use any opportunity for a counterattack, which requires maximum concentration from the team throughout all ninety minutes of the match.
Victory statistics and conversion issues
Despite the fact that Polissya's recent matches against opponents such as Livyi Bereh and Kryvbas ended in narrow 1-0 victories, the head coach is confident that the team's play allowed them to count on a more comfortable lead. Analyzing statistical indicators, Rotan pointed to a high level of aggressiveness and a significant number of scoring chances created. Nevertheless, conversion remains the main problem, which the coaching staff and players are actively working on in training sessions.
Media day and club transparency
The frank statements were made during a special Media Game event organized by FC Polissya with the support of official sponsor GGBET. As part of this project, journalists were given a unique opportunity to become part of the team for a day: they participated in the training process, looked behind the scenes of the club, and saw from the inside how the team prepares for crucial UPL matches and what remains outside the football field in October 2026.
Contradictory data
While Ruslan Rotan openly speaks about psychological pressure and the need to cope with it domestically, in other sources and interviews the coaching staff sometimes emphasizes a strict ban on talking about fatigue or insurmountable difficulties. On the one hand, acknowledging the pressure helps reduce expectations and relieve tension from the players, but on the other hand, the coach's public demands to maintain absolute aggressiveness and score multiple goals per game create high expectations among fans and the media, generating an additional internal conflict between the team's actual fatigue and the demands for absolute dominance.
