Filming has officially begun in the Almaty region for one of the most anticipated films of the year — the fourth installment of the adventure franchise 'God's Armor'. Under the working title 'Ultimatum', the project brings together Hong Kong studio Billion Target and Kazakh media company Salem Entertainment. The lead role is played by legendary 72-year-old Jackie Chan, whose presence on set signals the serious international scale of the production.
Filming in Central Asia is scheduled from July to October 2026. Locations are distributed between the Almaty and Mangystau regions, where the crew will work in challenging terrain. In particular, large-scale scenes will be shot in the Bozhyra area on the Ustyurt Plateau — a place known for its harsh climate and unique natural formations. After completing work in Kazakhstan, the film crew will move to Azerbaijan for the final episodes.
The film's director is Robert Kun — a specialist previously known as a stuntman and coordinator of high-complexity stunts. His name is associated with projects such as 'Night Watch', 'The Special One', and 'Major Grom: The Game'. For Kun, this film will be his full directorial debut, making the project particularly significant for the industry.
The plot of the new installment returns viewers to the series' key character — an antiquities hunter nicknamed the Asian Eagle. This time, his search focuses on the Tumar artifact — a traditional Central Asian amulet-talisman, whose stated value in the plot exceeds $20 million. The integration of the region's cultural and historical context adds depth and authenticity to the film.
The project's financial and infrastructure partner in the local market is the fintech ecosystem Kaspi.kz. The company has taken on the logistical needs of the film crew, marking an important step in supporting large-scale film production in the country. Official representatives of Salem Entertainment confirmed that the film's distribution is targeted at both Asian and European film markets.
The project is being implemented in accordance with modern safety standards for stunt scenes, especially considering the age of the lead actor. According to international copyright norms and the Republic of Kazakhstan's film subsidy regulations, attracting foreign film studios allows for the use of rebate mechanisms — partial return of investments. This is aimed at developing the local tourism potential and the film industry as a whole.
