Star of cult horror films "Friday the 13th" and "Halloween", Jamie Lee Curtis, shocked fans and colleagues with sad news. At the age of 69, her older sister, actress Kelly Curtis, known to audiences for her roles in the films "Daughter of the Devil" and "Magic Wand", has passed away.

The sad news was confirmed by Jamie Lee Curtis herself on her Instagram, where she posted an archival photo of her loved one. According to the Oscar winner, Kelly passed away on the morning of May 30 at her home in California.

"At peace in nature"

In her address, Jamie Lee tried to convey the atmosphere of the moment of her sister's passing, noting that it occurred surrounded by nature and in complete peace. The actress did not reveal the specific cause of death but emphasized that the passing was natural.

"Warm greetings to my older sister, Kelly Lee Curtis. She died this morning. In her home. In nature. At peace," the star wrote on social media.

"First friend" and talented actress

Jamie Lee Curtis shared warm memories of the person she called her "first friend" and the only one she trusted all her life. She described Kelly as an incredibly beautiful and talented actress whose career began in childhood.

Born in Santa Monica, Kelly was the eldest daughter of legendary Hollywood actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. Her debut took place in the film "The Vikings", where she starred alongside her parents, although the role was not credited. Later, she starred in the comedy "Trading Places" alongside her younger sister Jamie Lee.

Unique character and hobbies

In her farewell message, Jamie Lee listed many traits that made her sister a unique personality. Kelly loved nature, music, travel, and shopping at thrift stores. She was an avid collector of turtles, a masterful card player, and was interested in modern technology, actively using Facebook and playing Pokémon Go.

The sister also took pride in her heritage, which combined Danish roots and Hungarian-Jewish ancestry, and remained a devoted patriot of America.

A special place in Jamie Lee's memory was occupied by Kelly's culinary talents. "She will be remembered for her generosity, unshakable convictions, boundless curiosity, unique style, and her powdered almond crescent cookies at Christmas," the actress noted.

Family tragedy and support

The Curtis family has faced losses more than once. Kelly had half-sisters Alexandra and Allegra, as well as brothers Benjamin and Nicholas. The latter, unfortunately, passed away in 1994, not reaching the age of 24.

Concluding her address, Jamie Lee recalled her sister's favorite blessing — "Isten Veled" ("God be with you"). It was with these words that Kelly often signed her letters and messages.

After the news of Kelly Lee Curtis's death was published, fans and colleagues of Jamie Lee began to mass leave comments expressing condolences and support for the grieving family.
