Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi was forced to interrupt his performance in New York. The incident occurred during the eighth concert of the Bon Jovi Forever Tour at the famous Madison Square Garden arena. The artist, who had already played for about an hour and a half, realized he could not continue the show due to deteriorating health.
Interrupted finale and audience help
The last song of the evening was the cult hit "Livin' on a Prayer". Bon Jovi performed it together with a guest — Train frontman Pat Monahan. Due to voice problems, the artist had to hand over some of the vocal parts to the audience, and the viewers enthusiastically joined in the chorus.
After the track ended, the musician came to the microphone to honestly explain the situation. He apologized to the fans for not being able to give his 100% that night.
"I'm sorry, it hurts, and you're not getting the best from me," the singer admitted.
Reason for the cancellation and future plans
Band representatives later clarified that the reason for the early departure from the stage was an acute form of sinusitis, which led to voice problems. Despite the cancellation, Bon Jovi assured fans that the concert is not being cancelled permanently.
The artist asked the audience to keep their tickets, promising that the team would definitely find a way to hold the show on another day. "Don't throw away your ticket stubs, I'll figure something out," he said.
