Specialists from Ukrhydrometcenter have presented a detailed analysis of the climatic features of July in Ukraine. Experts have not only summarized historical data on the traditional weather indicators of the second summer month but have also announced a preliminary forecast for July 2026.
As reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the department's press service, July is traditionally the warmest month of the year. However, meteorologists remind us that this period is characterized by unstable weather, where hot days can be replaced by sudden changes in atmospheric conditions.
Climatic characteristics of July
According to Ukrhydrometcenter data, the climatic norm for July has its own clear parameters. The average monthly air temperature during this period is the highest of the year. At the same time, the absolute minimum temperature recorded during the month also has its characteristic values, which may vary depending on the region.
An important indicator for the country's residents remains the amount of precipitation. The average monthly rainfall in July, according to experts, varies within certain limits, which is important to consider for both agriculture and vacation planning.
Forecast for 2026
Of particular interest is the preliminary forecast by meteorologists for July 2026. According to approximate calculations, the average monthly air temperature in the coming year may exceed the climatic norm.
Specialists clarified that in most regions, the temperature is expected to be 2°C above the norm. At the same time, in the western regions of Ukraine, the excess may reach 3°C. This indicates a trend towards maintaining abnormally warm weather during the summer period.
As for precipitation, the forecast for 2026 looks more restrained. It is expected that the amount of rainfall will be below the norm, amounting to approximately 60–75% of the average annual figure. This could affect the water regime of rivers and the condition of soils in agricultural regions.
