Ukrainian singer Kamaliya (Marychka Dovbenko) has spoken openly for the first time about how her life has changed after parting ways with businessman Mohammad Zakhur. Despite the official divorce, the couple has maintained a unique cohabitation format: they continue to live in the same house and jointly raise their two daughters, Arabella and Mirabella.
New rules: from control to total freedom
According to the artist, their relationship has been radically restructured. If Kamaliya used to consult her husband even on creative matters, she is now completely independent. She builds her own team, seeks sponsors, makes decisions, and is responsible for her own income. 'I am my own boss,' the singer emphasizes, noting that she feels freer.
Questions about where and when the partner is have also disappeared from daily life. 'Zakhur doesn't ask me when I'll be home or where I was. I don't ask him either,' Kamaliya explains. At the same time, they continue to live under one roof — simply 'there is no bed'.
Finances and property: what remains after 20 years of marriage
The singer admitted that no division of property accumulated over two decades of joint life was carried out. However, she is not worried about this. 'I have some percentage that I receive on my card from Zakhur monthly. That's it,' Kamaliya shared.
She is convinced that Mohammad is a noble man who will not leave her with nothing. 'I think there is a will. The main thing is, I know that it will remain for the children,' the artist added.
Why the union fell apart: war, London, and 'two mistresses in the kitchen'
One of the key tests for the family was the full-scale war. During their forced stay in London, tension reached a peak. Kamaliya recalls constant conflicts with Zakhur's daughter from previous relationships, who was against living together. 'Two mistresses in the kitchen — that's constant bickering and accusations,' the singer said.
Moreover, refugees and other members of Zakhur's family were in the house, which only exacerbated the situation. According to Kamaliya, these circumstances became the point of no return in their relationship.
Today, the artist focuses on work, raising children, and personal independence. Her story is an example of how, even after a breakup, one can maintain respect, care for children, and even a shared household — but already on new, freer terms.
