The Ukrainian band KARTA SVITU has presented a new composition “U hoteli”, dedicated to Kyiv and the emotional connection with the city. Released in November 2026, the track is the result of a long creative search: according to frontman Ivan Marunych, the idea to write a song about the capital had been maturing for a long time, and its final form emerged during one of his walks through the streets of Kyiv. The musician emphasizes that he had long wanted to create a composition about his hometown, but did not rush the work, waiting for inspiration and the right words.
Song Lyrics: Urban Locations and Recognizable Places
In the lyrics of “U hoteli”, the musicians mention a number of familiar capital locations: the railway station, airports, and in particular the hotel “Ukraine”, located in the center of Kyiv. These images form a recognizable cityscape that, according to the authors' intention, should resonate with listeners living in the capital or closely connected to it. The composition is structured as a personal appeal to the city and its residents, which gives the track an intimate yet universal character.
Hotel “Ukraine” Reacts to the Release
Shortly after the premiere of the track, the team of the hotel “Ukraine” publicly reacted to the release on social media. Representatives of the establishment first left a comment under the band's post and later invited Ivan Marunych to personally visit the hotel. The musician was offered the opportunity to meet the team and use the venue's space for filming. The meeting essentially became a continuation of the story mentioned in the composition itself: Marunych took the opportunity not only to visit the hotel but also to drink the morning coffee mentioned in the second verse of the song.

Ivan Marunych explained that he hopes the new track will become a kind of musical greeting for those staying in Kyiv, as well as for people who, due to various circumstances, are currently far from home. “I would like the song 'U hoteli' to support everyone who is currently in Kyiv and everyone who for various reasons cannot be at home. If this track inspires someone to write or call friends from the capital, that is already a good result. Or if it encourages them to come to the capital to support or stay close in these difficult times,” said the frontman of KARTA SVITU.
65 Years of the Hotel and Social Media Resonance
In 2026, the hotel “Ukraine” celebrates its 65th anniversary. Located in the center of the capital, the building has long become a recognizable part of Kyiv's cityscape; over decades of operation, the establishment has welcomed numerous guests of the city. The release of the KARTA SVITU track coincided with this jubilee milestone and drew additional attention to the hotel's history. After the release of the composition, the track began to actively spread on social media: one of the Instagram videos created to the accompaniment of the new song gathered over 100,000 views, indicating a wide audience response to the musical appeal to Kyiv.
