On the night of July 8, Kharkiv was subjected to a new missile attack. According to local sources, enemy strikes were recorded in several districts of the city. Information about the strike came from Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, who confirmed the impact of ballistic missiles.
Time of attack and initial reports
The first explosions in the city were heard at 01:43 and 01:45. Monitoring channels had previously warned of a ballistic threat, and the Ukrainian Air Force recorded missile launches in the direction of Kharkiv. A few minutes later, Mayor Terekhov confirmed the information, reporting strikes in the Osnovyansk and Nemyshlyansk districts.
Damage and consequences
Preliminary data indicates that the impact of a missile in the Nemyshlyansk district damaged more than 10 private homes. Later, Terekhov clarified that more than 20 private homes, the glazing of a church, the street lighting network, and five cars were damaged in the city. All relevant services are working at the scene.
Casualties
Preliminary reports indicate two injured persons who have been diagnosed with acute stress reaction. Medical assistance is being provided on site.
Context: previous attacks
Recall that on July 7, Kharkiv was also subjected to an air strike. As a result of the shelling in the Shevchenkivskyi district, medical and educational institutions, a gas station, residential buildings, and warehouse buildings were damaged. Additionally, fires broke out.
Earlier, on July 1, the enemy launched a series of air strikes on Kharkiv. At that time, impacts were recorded in three districts at once — Kyivskyi, Osnovyansk, and Novobavarsk. As a result of the attack, houses were damaged and cars were burning.
