A precedent-setting decision has been made in the Kharkiv region to expand the evacuation zone for civilians. Due to a sharp escalation of the situation near the border and the front line, authorities are initiating the relocation of residents from three administrative districts of the region at once. This was officially announced by the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleksiy Synegubov.

Decision of the Defense Council

The initiative to expand the evacuation zone was approved at a meeting of the regional Defense Council. The main reason was the predicted deterioration of the situation in border and frontline communities. In recent weeks, the intensity of hostilities in the region has steadily increased, and the enemy is daily attacking the Kharkiv region, intensifying the offensive. Border territories remain under constant threat of shelling, making the presence of civilians there extremely dangerous.

Synegubov urged residents of certain settlements not to neglect their own safety and to immediately leave dangerous areas. The main task of the authorities in this situation is to preserve the lives and health of civilians.

Evacuation geography: three districts under threat

The scale of the operation covers a significant territory. Authorities have identified three key directions where mandatory evacuation has been declared:

  • Shevchenkivka community. Mandatory evacuation has been declared from 41 settlements at once. The list includes villages such as Arkadivka, Bohodarivka, Vasylenkove, Velykyi Khutory, Hroza, Zhuravka, Ivanivka, Maksymivka, Mali Krynyky, Myrne, Novyi Liman, Ohurtsovka, Petropillia, Poltava, Sumskoe, Troitske, and Khudozhnykove, as well as a number of other smaller settlements.
  • Bokhoduv district. Evacuation concerns the settlements of Ulianivka and Zarechne, as well as the villages of Ivanivka, Uytne, Voskresenivka, Korbyny Ivany, Shkarlaty, Deviatybratovo, Zaryabynka, Leskovka, Konstantynivka, and Snihy.
  • Dergachi community. The situation here is considered most critical. Authorities have declared not only mandatory but also forced evacuation of children. The event covers the settlements of Pityomnyk, Nove, Slatyne, as well as the villages of Ruska Lozova, Solonyi Yar, Bezruky, and Leshchenko.

Consequences of shelling and organization of assistance

The need for urgent measures is confirmed by recent tragic events. Recently, the Russian side attacked Bohodukhiv. As a result of the shelling, 12 people were injured. These incidents only confirm that border communities are in the epicenter of hostilities.

Logistical support has been organized for evacuated citizens. Residents will be taken to special transit centers where they will be provided with necessary assistance and temporary accommodation. Authorities emphasize that under the current military threat, timely withdrawal is the only way to guarantee the safety of the population.
