In Kyiv, a Russian drone strike has completely destroyed the warehouse of Kiddisvit, a distributor of children's goods and toys. This was reported by the company's co-founder, Pavlo Ovchynnikov, on Facebook, as reported by RBC-Ukraine. According to him, the attack specifically targeted children's toys, but fortunately, no employees were injured.
Company statement
"The most important thing is that our people are safe. No employees of the company were injured. We are now dealing with the aftermath — we have suffered significant damage," Ovchynnikov emphasized. He added that the company is doing everything possible to restore operations. According to the photo illustration attached to the statement, the warehouse was hit by a jet-powered drone.
Series of attacks on warehouse facilities in the capital
The strike on Kiddisvit is part of a series of incidents involving hits on warehouse facilities in Kyiv. According to RBC-Ukraine, on September 9, in the Dniprovskyi district of the city, a UAV hit a warehouse, causing a fire. The day before, on September 8, in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, two people died as a result of a drone hitting a warehouse. Earlier still, on September 3, a Russian attack destroyed the warehouse of the pharmaceutical company 'Apteka Dobroho Dnia' (Good Day Pharmacy), where hundreds of tons of medicines were lost.
Scale of damage and recovery
Exact figures for Kiddisvit's financial losses were not disclosed at the time of publication; the company's co-founder limited himself to mentioning "significant damage." Nevertheless, the complete destruction of the warehouse of a children's goods distributor means a disruption of supply chains and a temporary shortage of products on the market. The company stated that it is taking all necessary steps to minimize the consequences and resume deliveries.
