Kyiv Hosted an Open-Air Movie Night Dedicated to Kyivstar TV's First Original Film, 'Hotel Falcon's Glow'

At the end of summer 2026, a special open-air movie night was held in Kyiv, dedicated to the Ukrainian romantic comedy 'Hotel Falcon's Glow.' The event took place at the Polyana VDNH venue and brought together representatives of the film industry, media, bloggers, and fans of domestic cinema. The evening was hosted by Denis Pereverzev, and the highlight of the program was a special screening of the film, which became the first original full-length narrative feature of the Kyivstar TV platform.

'Hotel Falcon's Glow' is the first original full-length narrative feature film of Kyivstar TV, produced in collaboration with FILM.UA Group. The film's exclusive premiere on the platform took place on August 24, on the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. The organizers emphasized this fact when choosing the date and format of the screening: the evening was not simply a film showing, but a public celebration that united the industry and the audience around a new domestic product.

The Plot: A Hotel Named After a Rare Natural Phenomenon

The romantic comedy is set in a family hotel founded by Vasyl Sokol. The establishment got its name from a rare natural phenomenon — a mysterious glow over a mountain peak. As conceived by its creators, this is a story about feelings, family, unexpected encounters, and a place capable of changing people's lives. The genre and setting underscore the emphasis on warm, 'human' drama, which, as the organizers note, is in particularly high demand under current conditions.

The Evening's Program: From a Film Lecture to Live Music

The program went beyond a traditional film screening. Before the viewing, film blogger and founder of the Cinemais blog, Maryna Shultz, delivered a special film lecture on making cinema in wartime and on the importance of the romantic genre today. A separate part of the event was a meeting with the film's creators: guests learned more about the birth of the story, the atmosphere on set, and heard exclusive behind-the-scenes stories. The highlight of the evening was the musical performance by Ivanka Chernovska, a finalist of the sixth season of the show 'Voice of Ukraine,' and Hennadiy Bondar, who traveled to Kyiv specifically to perform traditional Ukrainian songs for the guests.

Summer Movie Nights as an Emerging Tradition

The event's organizers — Darya Lototska, co-owner of the Holosni PR agency; influencer and founder of the authorial events 'Brunch Under the Chestnuts,' Alisa Dykalova; and Maryna Shultz — note that ending the summer with a shared viewing of good cinema is already becoming their annual tradition. 'Last year we watched Dirty Dancing — a Hollywood classic — and this year we dedicated our evening to contemporary Ukrainian cinema,' they say. According to them, the main goal is to bring together people who love cinema, create a special atmosphere, and beautifully spend one of the last evenings of summer. 'What our next movie night will be like — time will tell,' the organizers added.
