Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced a new batch of aid provided by the capital's community to support defense efforts. According to him, nearly 2,700 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types have been sent to soldiers of the 5th Separate Kyiv Assault Brigade. The mayor announced this on his Telegram channel, a report verified by several Ukrainian media outlets, including RBK-Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine, and Obozrevatel.
What was delivered to the front
According to the mayor's statement, the new batch includes drones for various purposes, including FPV drones, reconnaissance aircraft, and kamikaze drones. In addition to aviation, the 5th Assault Brigade received 12 ground robotic systems (GRS) from the capital, which are used for reconnaissance, cargo delivery, and evacuating the wounded in conditions dangerous for personnel. Thus, the aid covers both aerial and ground robotics equipment.
Number of drones delivered since the start of the year
Klitschko recalled that since the beginning of this year, the Kyiv community has provided more than 65,000 drones of various types to the military across different brigades. The mayor emphasized that the capital continues to increase its support for combat units, and that the delivery of equipment to the front is systematic rather than a one-time effort.
Financial support: 1 billion UAH and 'Defender of Kyiv' program
Separately, the mayor reported on a budget decision by the Kyiv City Council: during the previous session, an additional 1 billion UAH from the city budget was allocated to support the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. According to Klitschko, a total of 6 billion UAH has been allocated to support defenders this year. It was previously reported that on November 6, the Kyiv City Council voted to allocate an additional 1 billion UAH under the "Defender of Kyiv" program, following a previous session where 1.5 billion UAH was dedicated to the cause.
Context: the role of the capital's community in front-line supply
The transfer of drones and robotics on behalf of the city community has become one of the most prominent elements of mobilizing Kyiv's civil resources to support the defense. The combination of large batches of drones, ground systems, and repeated budget decisions by the Kyiv City Council indicates that the city administration has established a sustainable mechanism for financing and logistics for military units, primarily Kyiv brigades.
