Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko made a working trip to the Kharkiv direction, where he personally met with servicemen of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. During the visit, the Ukrainian capital delivered a large batch of technical assistance in the form of modern unmanned aerial vehicles of various modifications. Servicemen of the 3rd Army Corps of the Center Force Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received a total of 5,800 drones, which are urgently needed to carry out combat missions on the front line.

Large-Scale Frontline Support from the Kyiv Community

As the mayor noted in his official Telegram channel, the capital's community is systematically and consistently increasing the volume of support for the Ukrainian army. The transferred batch includes a variety of UAVs capable of effectively solving reconnaissance, fire adjustment, and enemy position destruction tasks. In total, since the beginning of this year, Kyiv has sent more than 52,000 drones of various types, as well as related military equipment and gear, to the needs of various brigades and units of the Security and Defense Forces.

Budget Initiatives and Financial Assistance

The capital's leadership continues to consistently increase funding for frontline needs at the expense of the local budget. Thus, at a recent session of the Kyiv City Council, deputies supported Vitali Klitschko's initiative and decided to allocate additional funding in the amount of 1.6 billion hryvnias to support the Security and Defense Forces. This decision was approved on October 1 of the current year after detailed discussion with specialized committees and representatives of the city deputy corps.

Development of the 'Defender of Kyiv' Program and Social Payments

In addition to direct technical assistance to frontline units, the capital's authorities pay special attention to the social protection of military personnel and their families. At the instruction of the Kyiv mayor, specialized departments of the city administration are working on mechanisms to further increase funding for the 'Defender of Kyiv' municipal target program. Furthermore, as part of recent budget amendments, the Kyiv City Council additionally allocated 375 million hryvnias for targeted payments to citizens mobilized from the capital. Recall that in the previous year, the total amount of direct assistance to the military and veterans from the city budget exceeded 12 billion hryvnias.
