A major reshuffle is brewing within the Ukrainian political establishment. According to information received from Verkhovna Rada deputies, the most likely successor to the current Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko will be Serhiy Koretsky — the current head of the board of 'Naftogaz' and director of 'Ukrnafta'.

Deputies Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Alexey Goncharenko, who shared insider information on the evening of July 12, claim that the process of changing power in the Cabinet of Ministers has already been launched and will develop at a rapid pace.

Power Transition Scenario: Resignation and Appointment

According to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, Yulia Sviridenko's resignation will be officially accepted on Tuesday, July 14. The deputy predicts that on the same day, the authorities will try to manage to appoint Serhiy Koretsky to the post of Prime Minister. In addition, Zheleznyak notes that other personnel decisions are possible along with the head of government.

Alexey Goncharenko emphasizes that these changes are not an improvisation. As proof, he cites the fact that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took Koretsky with him to the NATO summit in Ankara. In the opinion of the MP, such a decision would be meaningless if the head of state did not have plans to change the Prime Minister.

Ministry Reform and New Appointments

Along with the Prime Minister, other high-ranking officials will likely leave their posts. Deputies name the Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine — Minister of Communities and Territories Development, Oleksiy Kuleba. According to Zheleznyak, his ministry may be divided into two independent bodies: the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure.

There is also a discussion about the possibility of dividing the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine into two separate government bodies.

Fate of the Minister of Defense and Other Key Figures

The fate of the Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, is particularly intriguing. Alexey Goncharenko notes that his resignation or appointment for a new term is an open question. The procedure for submitting the candidate for Minister of Defense to the Rada must come from Zelenskyy and then be supported by parliament. At the moment, it is unknown whether the president will initiate this procedure and whether Fedorov will be able to gather the necessary number of votes.

Zheleznyak points out that the decision on Fedorov will be a key factor for further appointments, in particular, the ministers of digitalization and internal affairs. The consideration of relevant candidates in the Verkhovna Rada is scheduled for Wednesday.

The list of possible resignations also includes the Minister of Education, Oksen Lisovyi, and the Vice Prime Minister for EU and NATO Integration, Taras Kachka.

Zelenskyy's Strategy

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially stated the need to update the Cabinet of Ministers. This decision is dictated by the implementation of a new political strategy and the need to change the heads of law enforcement agencies. Zelenskyy noted that he discussed the details with Yulia Sviridenko, thanked her for her work, and proposed that she head a new significant direction in relations with a key partner.

Sviridenko confirmed her departure from the post but emphasized her readiness to continue serving the state. The President emphasized that Ukraine is changing its political course: now, for each priority foreign policy vector, a specific person with significant experience will be responsible.
